Call for comment on new National Senior Certificate regulations

The Minister of Basic Education has published for public comment the amended regulations relating to the conduct, administration and management of assessment of the National Senior Certificate (NSC).

Written submissions are to be made within 21 days of the publication of the notice. The notice was published on 21 November 2012 in Government Gazette No. 35896. Some of the main changes include defining an examination centre to mean a centre that is registered by an assessment body and defining a learner who experiences barriers to learning to mean any learner who has difficulties in accessing the curriculum due to factors that serve as barriers. A number of further amendments are made to the assessment process.
